Diet: Back to the Drawing Board

In the last two months, I gained 8lbs. I stopped weighing myself a while back. When I saw my weight recently (6lbs higher in one month) I thought for sure it must be water weight and/or muscle gain; but alas, my pants do not fit and after a week my weight has not changed.

Slow carb helped me to lose weight. What I love about it is that it seems to be more forgiving. It is easy to eat at restaurants. It allows for cheat days. I can eat crap food in moderation after hard cardio. Reminder: Slow Carb is not low carb.

The main thing I want to change this time while doing Slow Carb is that I want to eat less meat. I will be trying out black bean and veggie patty recipes. It’s hard to find recipes that follow the Slow Carb Diet.

I don’t want to diet forever, nor do I want to lose a ton of weight “just because”. When I did this eating plan, I felt like I was not in bondage to food. Lately, food stresses me out. I liked weighing 130. I look fine at 138, but I felt small at 130 🙂 It may not be a maintainable weight for me…my body loves being 138! It stuck there for years. I just want to find a comfortable place and stay within a range of that.

I’ll keep you updated on how it goes! And let me know if you find any good patty recipes that don’t use carbs other than legumes.

    someone just bought me the book “the china study.” it’s a slow process, but i’ve been cutting out animal proteins for a while. i have a feeling after finishing this book, i may be convinced. i’m still pro-beans though, so i don’t know if i’ll ever be 100% raw. and cheese… mmmmmmm… cheese…
